In the '3os you could buy ceramics with an uranium oxide glaze, purely for the colours. (Having checked my facts: made in the '30s, not made during the Manhattan Project years, but back again after the war right the way up to 1969, and used depleted uranium oxide for a few years after that.) Worst-case estimate was 4.5 grams of uranium per plate. Radiation dosage negligible.

Nonetheless, I prefer inert tableware, if it's all the same to you.
