The first challenge1 was good fun, but several of you told me that you hadn't a clue. This one contains mostly easier stuff, so may be more suitable for the geographically challenged! A couple of them could prove a bit more taxing, though. As before, comments are screened, so please post answers. Arrrrr.

Easy to start... or is it? Look for familiar shapes.

Big long joiny-thing.

A somewhat more obscure area of the globe. Check the corners.

Whassat then?

Okay, this one's trickier.

Zoomed in a bit more than the others. What island is this?

I have no idea what the brown thing in the lower(ish)-right is.

Easy for me. Easy for you?

Exactly.
2. Nova Scotia and Newfoundland? (bit of P.E.I. as well I think)
Erm... would be just about correct for image number three, not two.
This one's Panama.
3. Kamchatka Peninsular
See above. Hudson Bay, the Labrador Sea, and most of Quebec.
4. The Great Lakes
Yes.
5. Caspian and Eastern Black Seas
Yup.
6. Tasman Strait and Van Diemens Land
Indeed.
7. Baltic Sea
Yep.
8. Korea, Manchuria, Inner and Outer Mongolia and a fairly big thwap of the Russian Far East
Not to mention most, if not all, of China. 8^)

1) The Med - Gibraltar at the top, Italy at the bottom, Africa on the left, Europe on the right.
2) The wriggly bit between Central and South America - Paname, Nicaragua, Honduras, Columbia, and Venezuela.
3) Ooh! Oooh! It's Saudi Arabia, with funny perspective! I recognize the bit that looks like someone's took a bite out of it.
4) An upside down view of the Great Lakes in North America? Or an elaborate Rorschach test, disguised as a satellite photo? Psychologically, what does it say about you if you see inkblots in outlines of real things?
5) Rot, I was doing pretty well at this. Russia, or Ireland. I'll go for Ireland, and hope for the best.
6) No idea. I can't actually run Google Earth on this PC, so I'm having to glance at a map of the globe and guess, which doesn't work too well for small things.
7) Scandinavia, Norway amd Denmark at the top, Lithuania, Latvia, and othe countries endiding in 'ia' at the bottom, Germany and Polan on the left.
8) Somewhere Greek, judging by your clue.

Interesting guess for #3... but wrong. 8^)
It's Hudson Bay, the Labrador Sea, and the eastern bits of Canada. The white bit in the bottom-left corner is Greenland.
Yes, #4 is the great lakes, upside-down. Inasmuch as the world has a right way up. It does look Rorschach-like, doesn't it? Perhaps we're both nuts...
#5: You would have been closer if you'd said Russia. It's the bit between the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea. (Including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, a sizable chunk of Turkey, and bits of Iran, Iraq, Russia, etcetera etcetera.)
#6: That Antipodean Eden, Tasmania. Home of things that go "Whrrr, Zoom, Pbbbbt!"
#7: Bingo!
#8: The clue misleads! It's China, with South pointing upwards. You can see Korea in the bottom left, and Taiwan centre(ish) left. (I used to live in Hong Kong, hence the clue.)

2 - Panama
3 - Hudson Bay and North-East Canada. This is no way an easier question than the last quiz ;)
4 - The Great Lakes
5 - Caspian Sea and Black Sea
6 - Tasmania
7 - Scandanavia. On closer examanation in Google Earth, the brown thing seems to be clouds, although I've no idea why they're that shade of brown.
8 - China

Yes.
2 - Panama
Good.
3 - Hudson Bay and North-East Canada. This is no way an easier question than the last quiz ;)
Hey, I gave you a clue! But yes, well done.
4 - The Great Lakes
Indeed.
5 - Caspian Sea and Black Sea
Very well done.
6 - Tasmania
Excellent.
7 - Scandanavia. On closer examanation in Google Earth, the brown thing seems to be clouds, although I've no idea why they're that shade of brown.
Yeah, I found a post about it in the Google Earth forums. Apparently it's a deep orangish because of the time of day it was taken. I'm not entirely convinced. (Where's the shadow?)
My personal theory is that those clouds hide a Secret Lair of an Evil Mastermind.
8 - China
Yup!

2. Mexico (upside down?)
3. Canada - Hudson Bay (That wasn't too difficult)
4. Those big lakes between the USA and Canada, Michigan being one. Can't remember the others.

8. China with North and South Korea bottom left and Taiwan just a bit higher up.

Yes.
2. Mexico (upside down?)
Well, a little bit of mexico, anyway. On its side. Also Panama, Nicorettua, Guatermelon, etc. 8^)
3. Canada - Hudson Bay (That wasn't too difficult)
Well done. (Other people had some difficulty with that...)
4. Those big lakes between the USA and Canada, Michigan being one. Can't remember the others.
Yep, the Great Lakes.
5.
Caspian Sea and Black Sea, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and a fair chunk of Turkey. The Caucasus, in other words. (Ooh, lookit me, learning new words all the time.)
6. Tasmania
Yes indeedy.
7.
You'll probably kick yourself for this one...
It's Scandinavia and the Baltic Sea. North pointing to the right. You can see Denmark at the top leftish of the picture.
8. China with North and South Korea bottom left and Taiwan just a bit higher up.
Well spotted.
Don't know the other two. How'd I do?
Pretty well. I'll unscreen all comments in a couple of days so you can compare your efforts to other people's. 8^)
