I'm running out of places to snap, but I've got enough for two more challenges. The first one's a fairly mixed bunch. Let's see what you lot make of it. Comments screened again.

So many islands to fight over! What two countries are these?

This one could prove tricky. The left edge of the picture may be the most enlightening bit.

Zoom in: wheeee! Where in the world could this be, I wonder?   8^)

Mostly water. What are those islands near the bottom?

For a bonus point, figure out which way's north.

Harder: what island is this?

What river is this? Hopefully this'll be fairly easy.

And another river to finish. Follow it upstream for some distinctive curves.

Also, check the comments of the last challenge to see how everybody did.

Edit: comments on this post now unscreened. Check the answers there.

5. Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal. North is towards the brown bit in the top rightish.

Yeah but no. North is leftwards (and downish). The grey blob in the top-right corner is teh Weegieland.

6. Hokkaido Island.

Yep!

7. River Nile btween the delta and the Second Cateract.

Cateract? Is that why it's all blurry? Um. But yes.

8. Is that the Thames?

1 - Greece And Turkey. Now why would you be showing a picture of Greece? ;)
2 - The Gulf Of Mexico
3 - North and South Queensferry. Photos where I can just about see my relative's houses are easier to identify, funnily enough.
4 - The Falkland Islands and Antarctica
5 - The Highlands of Scotland. North is approximately the bottom-left of the picture
6 - That's a hard question. I'll admit I only found out it was the north of Japan by extensive use of Google Earth.
7 - The Nile
8 - The Thames Estuary and south-east England.
