It's that time of year again, where I look back over my journal and try to figure out what I've been up to for the last 12 months.
In January, I rung in the new year with a snow barbeque and fireworks, got worried about livejournal, learnt about quantum suicide, and pondered life imitating art.
In February, I played around with XML, and failed to travel to Switzerland. I got annoyed with databases, 'lie detector' tests, and... err... Facebook. I also painted a study, and suffered through a "Working for Scotland" conference.
In March, I managed, on my second attempt, to travel to Switzerland. I found out how soft drinks are marketed and how low tabloids will stoop, and I swapped a daily commute to Livingston for a much more favourable one to Leith.
In April, I celebrated Cassie's first "birthday", got annoyed with policemen, visited Dunoon, and started driving lessons (again).
In May, I learnt about swiiiiiiiiiiiine fluuuuuuuuuuuu, got a Dreamwidth account, and discovered that, apparently, there are European elections now. There were two weddings this month, Jamie and Jules', and Jenny and Andrew's.
In June, I wibbled about who to vote for, identified the new masters of the Earth, and got excited about Android phones (I still haven't bought one yet, though!) I also travelled to Peebles, assisted Cassie in killing a mouse, and avoided being killed in return by swines.
In July, I crafted myself a professional web site, gave an ultimatum to VisitScotland, and played around with JavaScript.
In August, I learned that Scotland should be BOYCOTED OMG!, was bemused by last.fm, visited Deep Sea World for my birthday, and broke my computer.
In September, I fixed my computer again, discovered that Bo'nessians have the plague, celebrated 09/09/09 and Alan Turing. Finally, I passed my driving test, and my stag night, which I understand is also a test of some kind.
In October, I did... umm... something important, I'm sure... Oh yes, getting married, that was kind of eventful! (Seekrit locked post here). We then went on honeymoon to Tarifa (what, no post?), and got lots of presents.
In November, I finally got a new job at Vianet, and handed in my notice to VisitScotland. I also discovered Googol Waiv, although it's proven to be of limited use so far.
In December, I failed to make mince pies (there's always next year), and resolved to have an excellent Christmas. I raged against the X-Factor, and had an excellent, and very snowy, Christmas.
My resolution for this year is to see friends more often.
