I have a Facebook. I do not intend to use it, but need it in order to view photos. Have sent out friends requests to a number of you. May have forgotten some people, or sent some out twice... Facebook doesn't appear to keep track of past friends requests.

Edit: Hello dirty Facebook people! This is a copy of my livejournal at spudtater.livejournal.com

It does keep track, and won't let you send another if a request is outstanding. Also, your name is surprisingly not unique, so my friends request has gone out to the one that has mutual friends with me!

It's like "Smith" in Greek. Errr... well, maybe an exaggeration. Also see alternate spelling "Panagiotopoulos" for another five-and-a-half matches.

(I phear the double-barreled one).

Plus seven more if you change it to Alexandros, and... enough now!

Likewise, I have one but have no intention of using it. Some of the girls from my school are still really hot, though.

There are surprisingly very few people from my school (that I recognize) on Facebook. I count five.

It's probably a good thing, though strangely, the few people that I would like to get caught up with aren't on there.

That's because the kind of people that we like aren't the kind of people who use Farcebook.

Is facebook's photo gallery any good? I've noticed more and more people seem to use it but from what I've seen I think flickr does a better job.

Not particularly. Both flickr and facebook allow you to share photos with friends only — I think where facebook wins out is the sheer amount of people who are already on it.

It also allows you to view all photos with you in them, which is a nice touch, I suppose.

Yup. Facebook's gallery definitely wins from the social pov.

Not entirely sure. Memes, mostly. And 'status updates' à la twitter. It's like livejournal for people with all the concentration span of a sparrow with an esspresso habit.

One thing that it does appear to be good for is invites. I'm sure people with more familiarity with it will tell you their 'favourite apps', but I haven't yet seen anything to make me a convert.
