Oxford compiles list of top ten irritating phrases — The Telegraph, 8 Nov 2008
What phrases have annoy you past any reason? I hate "going forwards", which has been going round the office for far too long. The americanism "most everything" is also a classic pet hate.

Mostly office quotes, however...
"Moving forward"
"Action" when used as a verb (or worse "I actioned X" / "who's actioning Y?")
"Thought shower" (because brainstorm is offensive, apparently)
"Think outside the box"
"Big picture"
I once heard a trainer utter the word "motivationalise", but I sincerely hope that was an anomaly.
Oh and I have a longstanding dislike of the phrase:
"the sun is splitting the trees"
but that has nothing whatsoever to do with the office.

Hmmm... where do you come across that expression? I'm not sure I've ever heard it before.

I think perhaps the reason I dislike it is that it was generally a precursor to "so go outside (and get out of my hair)".

I've heard "actionable" at my office, though, which is bad.

"A means to an end", because it's always used to justify doing something nasty for the sake of the "greater good" (which in turn is always used to describe the personal utopia of the twat using the phrase).
