Sorry, shall do a proper post at some point, possibly with actual interesting stuff. Can't be arsed right now.
Methinks a Discordian is responsible for this one. Hail Eris!

"When the rains washes you clean you'll know."

That doesn't really work because the nearest book to me was piano music. Fleetwood Mac - The Dance. I just love playing Silver Springs.

I'm not plastering my rather sparse journal with it, but I'll play anyway:

"Examine the agle at which this line crosses the laminations and if less than 15:1 plane down to a straight line to give a perfectly flat surface"

I'd be interested to know where you found this meme. It was very popular in the blogosphere
back in April
(http://www.srcf.ucam.org/~hmw26/join-the-dots/2004/04/19/inanity/); I'm surprised to see it resurface so many months later.

I got it from [livejournal.com profile] anjylle, who got it from [livejournal.com profile] gethrees. Before that, I don't know.

Are you an AI student here, then?

From: [identity profile] hmw26.livejournal.com

Ah okay, fair enough. MIght try to track it down further if I find myself with a little spare time.

I'm not an AI student at Edinburgh. I did, however, do the MSc there in 2001/2002, but am now at the Universities of Cambridge and Pennsylvania working on my PhD. I think I may have met you once back when I was at Edinburgh though at a CompSoc event—does that sound plausible?

You do look familiar. Was it the Kevin Warwick talk? ("I am a cyborg! And I am here to tell you that computers are trying to take over the world!")

I narrowly escaped a dictionary quote myself. (It was the second closest book.)
Ah, word geeks.
