Labour are losing a lot of seats, but they're still going to get a majority, I'm afraid.
Lib Dems have been gaining seats off Labour, but have sadly lost three to the Tories. Ugh!
Oh, just gained one from the Tories; go Taunton! That's more like it!
As for Edinburgh South West, it's still Labour, but there's been a lot more Lib Dem votes than expected, coming out at a 9.6% gain. (21.1% of the vote). With a little luck, people will be more willing to vote Lib Dem next time.
*mumble mumble* bloody Tories...

(Though there was little chance of that changing, them being the only party to consistently communicate with the voters here!)

Saw the winning candidate (Mark Lazarowicz) on the bus up Leith Walk a couple of days ago, just before winning. I just smiled, and nodded before leaving. He probably thought I was a right loon from the left. :) Looking forward to booting him out next time.
And since the Lib Dems have been gaining more seats, and the government doesn't have a huge majority, the real power of the Lib Dems may be realised. (I expect more defections if Blair stays for his expected 3 years.) With this visible added power, you may be right in seeing a true three party structure next election.
Here's to next GE. Oh, yeah. As you were saying before, tactical voters are bastards. :)
