Search for Graduate/Trainee jobs in Information Technology in Scotland in The Last Month.

"Sorry, your search returned no matches."

Is there anything more depressing than looking for jobs when you don't have work experience? It's like several dozen people are lined up to slap you in the face, one after another...

Have sent my CV off to random people in the hope that somebody will accidentally give me a job.

May join an agency instead.

A agency may be the best way, many jobs only turn up in them. The other good one is word of mouth.

Many jobs don't get advertised at all! Phone, email, send CVs!

The phones will eat me. So I will not do that. But I shall send CVs, that is a good idea. Where can I get a sheaf of nice paper?

will look for paper tomorrow. it'llbe around somewhere. if not i have good quality white?

In a nice paper shop!

Don't make it too posh though - It'll get thrown away if it's in any way difficult, ie coloured paper etc. Wanna borrow a book on it?

Update: maybe applying for jobs while drunk is a bad idea. But it was for the position of "Technical Author", which I would rock at! And it needed to be filled in by tomorrow morning...   8^P

Muahahahahahah!

...erm, I mean, I'm sure everything will run smoothly.   8^]

"Run" being the operative word! (Can't believe I didn't spot that phrasing earlier...)

I know how you feel...just got sacked from the wonderful hair washing post I had managed to blag my way into!

I have never had a job from agencies or speculative CVs. For me the Scotsman is the only way forward although I have had some crappy temp stuff from the job centre. You might not want to listen to me though. Other people have had succes through agencies particularly if youre looking for something short term.

Does the Scotsman have jobs every day or only on specific days of the week?

From: [identity profile] neuralbuddha.livejournal.com

Fridays and Sundays. I tend to get it just on the Sunday as editions with jobs in are more expensive and I want the TV and Review section as well. If you just want the jobs they also publish the Edinburgh Classified which comes out on a Tuesday.

There's a special graduates' section in this weeks' New Scientist, which may or may not be useful. Have you decided to work in industry instead of staying in academia?
